This Thunderbird is a 1963 Tudor Hardtop. Being a luxury Ford creation, the Thunderbird featured many innovations that we take for granted nowadays. Some of these are:

· Swing away steering wheel

· Interior mirror bonded to windshield

· The first Ford to feature an alternator (prior to this, Fords had dynamos

· Hydraulic windshied wipers

And, of course, a name to die for!

The Thunderbird also feature the 390 (6,300cc) cu in "Big Block" engine rated at 300bhp and a three speed automatic transmission, The car was stopped by power-assisted drum brakes

Roger is a licenced aircraft engineer working for BA (40 years this October) and Angie works for the council as a fraud buster. They are both convivial and outgoing with a grand sense of humour.

Catch up with Roger and Angie and their Thunderbird at local car shows.
