WHERE WE HAVE BEEN

WAVERLEY ABBEY

15th June

The first time at the Abbey for the SCVC.  It was a fantastic day and the club did not disappoint with the cars on display.  The weather was just right and the feedback received from the Abbey and visitors was incredibly positive.

Guess what?  We're going back next year!

ASHTEAD VILLAGE FETE

14th June

Always a popular show which seems to attract good weather.  There was a nice selection of cars in front of the Freemens School which attracted much admiration.  The procession to the village field was led by a steam traction engine!  However, on arriving at the display area, I felt that we were quite squashed in which meant that owners were concerned about the close proximity of the public.  This will be fed back to the organisers.

And Jeannie's Citroen won another award.  Well done!

COWPIE - LINGFIELD

22nd June June

Still in the first heatwave of the summer and a great show.  But , it was hot!  And we couldn't leave until 5 pm.  A couple of us managed to get out at 4:45 pm but then the 'security police' shut and locked the gate (which is probably against health and safety rules) and wouldn't allow any classics out before the allotted time.  Hmm.  As nice as this show is, some may think twice about attending in future - especially as tractors and show vans were allowed to leave before 5 pm
